So, this happened….

Hello, pretties! Today's post is kind of spur the moment. The whole thing was kind of spur the moment. I've been having a hard time lately. I've just been really stressed and I wanted to do something for myself. I needed a change. So I did this.

You guys remember when I cute my hair. If you don't, you can recap here. Well, I added onto my hair journey. Check out my hair themed Pinterest board here to see what was going on in my head.

So when I was a teenager I always dyed my hair crazy colors with my friends. We would just buy a bunch of bleach and a bunch of colors and have a blast. Sometimes we would do multi colors, sometimes all one color, sometimes our whole heads, sometimes only sections. I've done pink, purple, green, blue, red, yellow, every color you can think of. I looked for pictures to show you guys but I only found a few, and most of them were from when I only had the under side of my hair dyed. Here they are. Compliments of my old myspace. Lol.

I also went blonde for a while. That was fun. Haha. Anywho, as you can tell from my Pinterest board for hair ideas, I was thinking color. I knew how to do it from my pervious experience. I knew I didn't want to color it all the way up to my roots because I don't want to have to worry about touching it up in a few weeks. So I was looking at shadow roots. (Basically where you have a different color ombré into your natural color near your roots.) Here's what I did.

I started by bleaching it. Since I had just cut my hair recently and I wasn't bleaching it all the way up to my roots I looked on amazon for a bleach kit. Bleach kits are essentially just enough bleach for a single use. I figured I didn't need to buy a huge tub of bleach and a bottle of developer because as I mentioned before, I had just cut my hair and wasn't even bleaching all of it. I found a Manic Panic bleach kit and sent the link to Nick and told him to order it and to pick a color of Arctic Fox hair dye and order that too. It all came in the mail a couple days later. Spoiler alert. He chose purple. Lol. I didn't think I would be able to get the back of my head very well because I can't see it so I would be able to ombré it, so I called my friend over. She started bleaching it from the bottom up so the unbleached hair (mainly the roots that I wanted to stay brown) wouldn't be effected by the hair that already had bleach on it falling down onto it.
We were on the last layer and we ran out… so I told nick to order another bleach kit. I had to wait 3 days for it to come in the mail but that was okay because I didn't look bad. I actually got compliments on it. This is was it looked like at that point.
Pretty good, I think! So my friend came back over once I got the second bleach kit and finished it up. It looked nice. Nick loved it. (He's always liked me blonde.) I left it alone for a few days. These are the only crappy photos I have of that phase of the transformation.
Then I took the plunge. I put the kids to bed and dyed it purple with Purple Rain from Arctic Fox. I know. I was a mess. Lol. I got all the dye off of my face and neck before it stained it but my left hand, it didn't get so lucky. (That's the hand I used to massage the dye in.) it's all gone now. Except my nails. Those are still purple. And here's the finished product:

I love it! What do you guys think? I hope you all enjoyed it post. Thanks so much for reading! I'll see you tomorrow!

Thank you so much! Lol. I was kinda like uh oh too. I just kinda winged it and figured if I screw it up, I can cut it off and it’ll grow back. I’ve had a pixie cut before so I’m not scared. And yes! I agree. You should do a post on your hair transformation! πŸ™‚
