So let’s get into this shall we!

I started my blog because I'm a wife and mom to two littles. My life is so chaotic between work, surrogacy, my marriage, and being the best mom I can that it's easy to lose myself. I decided I wanted to do something for me. I wanted something that I could escape to and that I was proud of and took credit for. I was thinking about it and asking myself what I really loved. The answer was makeup. I was on Instagram and I saw a beauty blogger that had her blog linked in her bio. I checked it out and thought, "omg. I could do this." And so I did. I started my blog and wrote and wrote and wrote. And of course at first I wasn't the best, and I'm still not the best, but I'm steadily getting better. I love that I can share my passion for beauty and have a wonderful community to support me and love me for it. So yeah, that's how my little blog got started. 🙂

Okay, two pieces of advice for new bloggers. First is consistency is key. When blogger first start out, they often ask how to gain followers and the answer to that is be consistent. Make a schedule for yourself. You can post everyday or every other day or three times a week or even once a week, but whatever you do, do it consistently. Readers want to follow blogs that they can depend on. They want to think, "oh yeah! It's Wednesday, that blogger is going to post at 1pm, yay!" You will gain quality followers the fastest this way. My second piece of advice is don't force yourself to write. People also want to follow Blog that they actually want to read, with quality posts. You aren't going to produce content that's as good if you're in a bad mood than if you're in a good mood. Write what you want when you want. If you find hay one day you want to write 5 posts, do it and schedule them to go up on the appropriate days. Then if you don't feel like writing on those days that you're supposed to post (because consistency is key, remember?) you don't have to. The best posts are written when you're happy and you're writing about something that you're passionate about. Then people can see the spark it gives your soul.
