So I Got Bored and Cut My Hair

Hello, beauties. Yes, what you read in the title is true. I got bored yesterday (it’ll probably be 2 days ago when you read this) and cut my hair. I took photos to bring you on this journey with me. Sorry for the lack of makeup and bad photos. This was very spontaneous of me. Haha. DISCLAIMER: I am in NO way a professional hair stylist of any sort. I am a normal girl that loves makeup and just got so bored that I cut my hair. Do not use this as a tutorial. Okay. Now that that’s out of the way. Let’s get to it. 🙂 
This is what I started with. 

Okay, so I knew I wanted layers so I just watched some YouTube videos on how to layer your own and and kinda winged it. To start I needed a guideline for all the layers so I started with the front, where I can see where to cut and use that hair as a guideline of where to cut the hair further back, where I can’t see as well. 

 I started with the very front of my hair, dividing it in half starting at he front of my ears. 

I used the very middle of the hair, basically parting it down the middle and using about an inch from each side of the part and cut it. This will be my shortest layer. I cut it about an inch longer than I really wanted it and then cut with the scissors facing upwards to blend that cut into the hair around it so the cut line wasn’t so harsh. Just like eyeshadow. 🙂 

Once I got all of my layers established, I let all of my hair down and using the hair I cut as the shortest layer as a guide, I cut the rest of the shortest layer all the way around the rest of my head. When I was finish cutting a layer, I would put it up in a bun at the top of my head.
I repeated this for the rest of the layers and viola! 

This is after a shower and styling. That’s why it’s not curly anymore and I’m in different clothes. Haha.
